Dolly Horrors

We have progress finally on the Young Baldrick Front , hes been rehoused into an assisted group  living programme...TOMORROW
So now we have to run round on a budget of zilch to get him everything he needs for his new home AAARRGGGHHH.
We even had a phonecall from the bank hopefully progressing his bank account , they sent a letter asking for his ID again but they already had it , it was all photocopied and sent from the bank branch, theyre off to look for it .
Because he isnt in receipt of any benefits we have had to find his first 2 weeks rent , in other words we have borrowed it from my daughter , its not very likely he will pay anyone back for what we have had to get him . We have also supplied his bedding and a huge food parcel , just got to pop and get pans and a tin opener .
He had the interview for this place last week and despite all his problems they didnt seem phased at all , he was told it might be a couple of months before they had a place but they rang on Friday and said someone had dropped out who was due to move in this week , if we could raise the rent he could have the place .
Its about 10 miles away in a small market town , theres not a lot to do there ,but that nots a bad thing .
It has been made very clear to him that this is his last chance, if  this  doesnt work out he is on his own.
We still have the doctors to tackle with him on Wednesday , then the assisted living programme will take over these things . It will give me a break at last which is no bad thing as i am working full time in theory at the moment .
Sue heres my Horror dolly selection from the box of strange , I remember these from the 60s

  1. I haven't commented before, although I do like to read your blog - we seem to have the same dark sense of humour. I just had to say how relieved I am for you that young Baldrick will be off your hands, although I am sure it is you he will run to if needs be. You are a very patient and persevering person. well done!

  2. I am thrilled that you have managed to find somewhere to live for young Baldrick, hopefully he will now get some help when he visits the doctors. You have a lot to be proud of, well done.

  3. I am so glad things are getting sorted out for you at last. You deserve a flippin' medal.
Oh my life.....those dolls take me straight back to my childhood. I had the Scotch and Welsh dolls and I think one of my sisters had the guard doll. I used to think they were beautiful but looking at them with grown up eyes they were bloody ugly things weren't they? -x-

  4. Thank heavens that there is a place for Young Baldrick and you will be able to get back to "normal" soon!
I had the dutch doll and several more her size, I'd forgotten they came in plastic tubes, looking at them now I'm thinking "Why?"

  6. Despite the costs involved you must be so relieved that things have been sorted a lot faster than you'd anticipated. I do hope it works out for all of you. Best wishes for the future, love Helen xx

    1. somehow i dont think this is the end of Young Baldrick problems , but at least this gives him a better chance of sorting his problems out if he will just co operate

  8. I'm so glad to see I can comment now! I don't have google+ so it would not let me comment before. I've been reading your blog for quite awhile. About time things started falling into place for you. Bravo for your stamina and wicked sense of humor.

  9. I'm another who read but couldn't comment. So pleased for you that YB has somewhere else to live and someone else to take over medical appointments etc.

  11. You had just commented on my blog,so I clicked over to yours! I empathize with the difficulties with YB. Our son went through years of different problems, and last ditch solution was sending him to a Christian Counselling center across the country. He slowly turned his life around, and now...five years later he is going to college at age 27 and is working this summer at the same counseling center he attended. Never give up hope! Sharon
