Plague 96

Morning lovely people what a beautiful frosty morning this is . Later today we will venture out for Covid test no 3 as another week of fun packed tests begin , everything so far has been negative , though his actual life threatening problem seems to have been kicked to the back burner in the hope that they can find another good reason to put him on the palliative care list first .  Think we have upset Mr BH , he caught us planning his funeral the other day and deciding what we could actually sell to pay for it . Im a ghastly practical kind of person , we are not married so everything goes to his children even his insurance , he has always flatly refused to write a will . But the simple fact is that theres one in particular of his kids who would turn up with a list of demands in the event of him passing shortly followed by Young Baldrick looking for stuff to sell for drugs.  Mr Bah Humbug also thinks its creepy to wake up with me listening to see if hes still breathing..lol

Mr BH was having a good old moan about being stuck in lockdown the other day and i pointed out to him that this is just the same as last winter , we have been nowhere and seen no one . Hes not good on his feet so ice and mud mean we just dont go out , he cant shop at all so its online with its hit and miss deliveries . Topped up with a fortnightly pop to a shop for the stuff that hasnt turned up on the delivery. Nobody visits because we really are out in the sticks .

Next question , reading up on all the vaccination stuff i noticed one odd anomaly. Some of the blurb states that you may be able to catch the virus from someone who has had the first vaccine shot ?  Any thoughts on that one kids?

  1. Apparently it is transmissible even if you've had the jab. My daughter works at a GP surgery. The practice owner knows of 2 doctors who have caught it after having both jabs. One is ok, the other is seriously ill, so it looks like aswell as being transmissible it's also deadly in some cases despite being vaccinated.Patients are catching it after the first jab, some very eldery indeed. My daughter is at work today at the vaccination clinic. The old folk are so appreciative, and one said it's his best day for months. The government has led people to believe the vaccine is the way out, which is a long way from the truth.

  2. The vaccine isn't 100% effective so someone who has received the two jabs may still catch it - the vaccine should mean that they won't become ill (or just slightly) but they may be able to transmit it to others (this is something that is now being closely studied). After only one jab you have even less protection so can still become ill and that is why protocols and isolation still have to be in place and why we will be wearing masks for many, many months to come.

The hope is that once the majority of people are inoculated that there will naturally be less and less transmission and the virus will mostly die out - with perhaps an occasional flare up that can be quickly contained.

As a Common Law spouse you still have "rights" and I would strongly urge you to check out those rights in order to protect yourself. Please ensure that you have access to some separate bank accounts - even if there are only nominal sums in them. You may also want to consider having the locks changed - his children don't have carte blanche rights to strip your home of whatever they like.

Why isn't at least a portion of his insurance in your name? You are the one who has looked after him - don't be so sure that they can make a claim on everything.

  3. It also takes time for each dose of the vaccine to become effective. About two weeks for max protection while your body learns what to do.

  4. It is actually quite common that vaccinated person can infect other people, it's not only covid (if I remenber right diphteria is like that). And if there's weakened but living viruses in vaccination, people can infect others because of vac. Most known is polio, if it's given orally, virus can live in digestive system and then spread through poop. Therefore all possible people should be vaccinated, that's how world got rid of small pox.
Also as said above, no vaccine is 100% effective and probably never will be. It's not faulty, people's immune system just don't work excactly the same way.

  6. Think you need to get some advice ref Will common law wifey status. the vaccine is not live, so my view is it won't infect you but people can still be carriers of the virus whether they have had a job or not. Where's anonymous? I was looking forward to her chipping in? :)
