This Is The End

Well The End of the posts till after Xmas ..lol  Im xmased out im afraid ive no interest at all so im not planing , im ignoring it . Went into Lincoln yesterday , to sort out some of my banking horrors , sorted some things , some i cant sort .
We are now discovering that the problems with the DWP are being made 10 times worse by out GPs sending letters back to them saying that Mr BH has depression and carpel tunnel syndrome all 4 lines they sent back in 2015 , none of his spinal problems or other stuff just that !! They also havent even bothered to reply to the other requests the DWP  have sent to them . Yes we requested his patient files from the practice manager and its opened up a whole kettle of worms that beggers belief , big chunks seem to be missing . So yes it does look as if things will end up going legal . So im informed i cant mention this anymore in public but yes we are still having daily problems with them .
Still taking any food offered we did get a foodbank parcel  delivered by our case worker and yesterday a huge bag of fruit and veg from the church food bank who have hit a big problem due to bad weather , Tesco donates  all their end of day fresh goods to them , but the homeless dont want salad this time of year , i will take it anytime Mr BH being diabetic needs a plant based diet , plus most people dont want baby sweetcorn or avocados, so thats todays job blanching veg for the freezer , loads of apples as well and a carrier bag full of bananas  . Its not people being ungrateful its just a perfect storm at the moment . Snow and ice mean even the foodbank is less busy and those who usually take fresh stuff cant get in . So ive stocked up the freezer and things dont go to waste thats all im bothered about  . Plus it will be bread and butter pudding for xmas, we got a carrier back full of end of day bakery goods, some were reheated for tea last night the rest can go in the freezer . Krispy Creme doughnut bread pudding sounds good to me !!
On a foodbank note i was in their talking to one of the volunteers and she said donations have risen 20 fold in the last week , though if they never see another chocolate orange they wont be heartbroken a company donated a van load...lol  What they are desperate for are toilet rolls and tinned fruit and uht milk .
So bye for now folks speak to you  Boxing Day .............

  1. Kate, it is useful to know that the food bank need loo rolls. Funny the stuff we take for granted. My friend always donates 'lady things'. They should be available free to all women if you ask me. Blimey they cost a stupid amount for a necessary item. If men had to endure it every month then I reckon they would be free.

    1. The guilty feminist podcast is about period poverty this week and apart from being thought provoking is very entertaining. And free.

  2. Kate....my heart breaks just a little bit more every time I read a post from you. I am constantly disgusted by the way other people are treating you and Mr BH.
I wish you a peaceful Christmas and hope that the new year will bring some relief from your problems.
    Many hugs-x-

  3. Words fail me re your situation - you couldn't make it up ! Have you tried contacting your local councellor ? probably won't help but may be worth a try - he/she may be able to move things along.

  4. Carol from Scotland here. I have been reading your blog for about two months in absolute disbelief and horror. What is happening to you is appalling! It seems as if the GP practice is very badly run and I am sure there is a legal case against them.

I’m glad you are getting some help with food from the Church and the caseworker
so far. My son has a severe mental health condition and I have had to move in to look after him. We have had most support from our Council which has a very helpful section dealing with filling in the forms for claiming benefit although I am dreading the review next year.

I hope you manage over the Christmas and New Year holiday and that next year is better for you.

    1. we were given a council caseworker to sort this mess out ...she wasnt interested in the slightest , the one we have now works for a charity and is brilliant

  5. The Krispy Creme donut bread pudding is quite good! We had a cook at a place where I volunteered who would make it. Your situation breaks my heart! How can people be so dense, hard hearted, stupid ( pick two)? Your family is lucky to have you as you doggedly put down one foot in front of the other. I will be thinking of you over the holidays, and hopping that next year is better.

  7. Kate, I'm glad you've been given so much food to fill your freezer, but sorry that you have to be in that position at all. I really hope things get put right for you soon. Meanwhile, I hope you have a drama-free Christmas.

  8. Here's praying that there will be an end to the ridiculousness of DWP and that all this MESS gets resolved SOON so that you can live life without this constant stress and burden. LOL, I am making bread & butter putting for Xmas myself, but doing mine in my crock pot overnight. God bless you all and I pray this next year is BETTER!

  9. Hope you have some joy over Xmas. The GP surgery sounds a nightmare and you should take action against them. When I had similar troubles I wrote down every action and everything they said and did in my diary and then asked the "professional" to sign it. Scared them to death and made sure they did exactly as agreed. These days you could tape/video them on a phone.

  10. Kate, well I guess the only bright spot here is that you have food. I'm glad to read that, but so sorry about the unfair situation you are still stuck in. Pray some records that were misplaced will be found as opposed to lost. Honestly, how many times can they mess this up? I'm glad you are taking a legal stand, and sorry you have more waiting ahead.

Have a peaceful Christmas. I'm not into the spirit myself this year, and am trying to ignore all the commercialism of the season.

    Take care Kate. Hugs

    1. We keep soldiering on we have our first tribunal hearing in January im not holding my breath but we should receive something after it , but may be looking at going on to more tribunals after that , plus people have had to resort to sending the court sheriffs in to get the arrears they are owed

  11. I second all those who say your GP's Practice should be reported for gross incompetence - it is truly criminal the amount of stress you have been put through. I hope that your caseworker stays on top of things and helps to get things sorted.
I'm glad that you have a stocked freezer and pantry and that you won't let things go to waste.
Have as peaceful a Christmas as possible and stay well.

  12. I loathe Xmas with a passion and I'm sick to death of it being rammed down my throat from mid-August. Having India to look forward to keeps me sane.
I don't know how you manage to stay sane, your situation is absolutely appalling. xxx
